
Have you heard about Adventures at Franklin's new Vlog series? If you haven't already you should hop right over and take a look at the first two Vlogs by听freshman Antonia Magallanes Sachot '25, shot during her Spring '22 Academic Travel听to Italy.
Back in March, Antonia traveled听alongside Professor听Giulia Miniero听and other classmates as part of the BUS 236T Marketing for Movies course in which they learned about听artistic productions and institutions,听techniques used to promote films, movie consumer needs and mindsets, and more. During the one-week trip, she video-documented every day while the class ventured and explored two fascinating cities in Italy: Bologna and Rome.
After visiting the beautiful city of Bologna 鈥 see Vlog听here听鈥撎齣ncluding taking part in a tour of the Cineteca听and a private projection of early 1900s silent comedy films, the group traveled to their second stop, the Eternal City: Rome.
During their stay in the Italian capital, the class enjoyed a walking tour of downtown Rome and the roman forum, discovering many locations of Italian film director Paolo Sorrentino's 鈥淕reat Beauty鈥 film, and more.听Another exciting experience was the visit to the production studios,听the largest film studio in Europe,听considered the hub of Italian cinema. Here the students got a glimpse of different sets,听scenic elements, and costumes, and also broke into smaller groups to experiment and create short amateur films in Chaplin style听鈥撎齳ou can see one of these in the Vlog! Finally, the class also toured two important museums:听 the听and the .
