Summer on campus is a critical time to engage in a wide variety of academic opportunities, enrichment, and skill-building. Combining rigorous academic programs with valuable and hands-on experiential education, Franklin's Summer programs are open to visiting and Franklin degree-seeking undergraduate students wishing to expand their knowledge and gain transferable credits.
By applying toÌýSummer Session I, fromÌýMay 30 to June 23, orÌýSummer Session II, fromÌýJune 27 to July 21, you can selectÌýthe subject best suited to your academic or personal interests, including computer programing, languages and culture, fashion studies, calculus, social psychology, personal finance, and international relations, just to name a few.ÌýDuring these four weeks, Franklin faculty and visiting guest lecturers will come together to deliver a diverse array of classes and seminars that focus on highly relevant global issues. You can choose to take one course (morning or afternoon) and spend the rest of your free time enjoying the outdoors in gorgeous Switzerland, or sign up for both morning and afternoon sessions and wander around during the weekends to explore nearby lakes and mountains. That's not all, university staff members will always ready to take care of any need, whether ensuring accessibility, offering emotional support, or assisting in finding interesting activities to occupy the free time outside of the classroom. Last but not least, at Franklin you have the chance to meet people with mutual interests from many different countries and cultures, building friendships and long-lasting connections.
Are four weeks not enough? Take advantage of the new Summer Certificate ProgramsÌýto be awarded a special certificate in addition to university credits. This program canÌýbe completed in two summer sessions, for an eight-week academic experience.
Our Summer Certificate Programs have two distinct tracks you can choose from:
- Digital Entrepreneurship and Fashion Studies: a four-course program drawing upon the disciplines of Art History, Business, Communication, and Studio Art to focus on content generation and reflection in the field of fashion. Classes in this program span fromÌýDigital Storytelling, Content Creation, Fashion from Concept to Construction and more.
- Politics of Europe and the Middle East:Ìýa four-course program introducing the fields of political science and international relations, with focus on the politics in the two closely linked regions of Europe and the Middle East.ÌýClasses in this program span from European Union Issues and Policies, Government and Politics of the Middle East and more.
