What is your name, where are you from, and what year are you attending at Franklin?听

My name is Majda听Halim听and I am from听Ifrane, Morocco. I transferred to Franklin in the fall of听2020听 from听in Morocco and am today a Junior.听

What is your cultural background?听

I was born听in Morocco听in the year听2000, so I am 21 year old. Two days after my birth, I was adopted by my two American parents who moved to Morocco four years prior to my birth in听1996.听I was then raised in听Ifrane听until I transferred to Switzerland for university.听听

What is your favorite thing about your home country, what is your favorite thing about Switzerland? How would you compare the two countries?听

Morrocco: The food and the traditions听that听the听Moroccan听culture holds.听Switzerland:听The natural beauty of the geography and landscape. Ifrane听is referred to as the 鈥淪witzerland of Morocco鈥 due to its beauty and cleanliness. Therefore, I love the fact that Lugano somewhat reminds me of home.听听

How did you learn about Franklin?听

Franklin University was recommended to me by a mentor. This inspired me to visit Switzerland for a campus tour at which point I fell in love with Lugano and 天美影院.听听

What is your favorite thing at Franklin?听

My favorite thing about Franklin is the diversity in cultural and national backgrounds within the student body. The small class sizes also enhance the educational experience by allowing students to engage with professors more actively.听听

What are your aspirations for the future, and how is Franklin teaching you to become a successful professional?听

My future career听goal听is to one day manage my own business. Through my major in International Management听and engaging in classes and career discussions听with my Academic Advisor, Professor Giulia Miniero,听I have gained a passion for Marketing and have future aspirations in international business.听听

What is the value that you believe听most听represents Franklin and why?听

Franklin really emphasizes the value of global听responsibility听in our education as future leaders.听As students, we are taught that our positive actions have good repercussions in the wider, global context. As citizens of the world, we have a global responsibility to create听impactful change for the better.听

What makes you laugh the most and why?听

The comedian Kevin Hart and his stand-up shows.

What is your all-time favorite book and why?听

"The Hobbit", it's听an easy read听that is very whimsical and full of jokes.听听

How many languages do you speak?听

Three: English, Arabic and French.听听
