
ÌìÃÀÓ°Ôº is proud to announce the appointment of Paul C. Lowerre ‘77 as the Chairman of the University's Board of Trustees. Mr. Lowerre will also assume the Presidency of Fondazione Università Franklin Svizzera in the coming weeks. University President Samuel Martin-Barbero commented, "The new Board leadership will guide Franklin in our mission to provide an academically rigorous Liberal Arts Education and an internationally focused learning experience within our multicultural community."
Paul Lowerre succeeds the current Chair, Kim Hildebrant '90. With over three decades of experience in the financial sector, Mr. Lowerre currently serves as Senior Vice President of Wealth Management at UBS, New York. He earned his degree from Marymount Manhattan College in 1981 and previously attended Franklin from 1975 to 1977. This formative experience shaped his global perspective and deepened his understanding of the complexities of international finance. A longstanding supporter and benefactor of Franklin, Mr. Lowerre has served as Trustee since 1995, previously as Chair from 2000 to 2010. In recognition of his contributions, Franklin awarded him an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters in 2010.ÌýMr. Lowerre’s wife, Ursula, graduated from Franklin in 1976, while his daughter is also a Franklin alumna from the class of 2006.

It is an honor for me to serve again as Chair and I am looking forward to working with our board and supporting President Martin-Barbero and Franklin's 2030 Strategic Plan," Mr. Lowerre said.

In addition to Mr. Lowerre's appointment,ÌýJay Tucker ’77Ìýhas been elected Vice-Chair,ÌýJennifer Helene Berg ’76Ìýhas been elected Treasurer, andÌýDenise H. Alfeld ’88Ìýhas been elected Secretary. The Board has also appointed three new members:ÌýAustin Tomlinson ‘06Ìýof Singapore,ÌýChristoph EbellÌýof Geneva, Switzerland, andÌýJoseph SarnoÌýof Lugano, Switzerland.
