
Welcome to ÌìÃÀÓ°Ôº! The Fall 2021 semester is about to begin.ÌýThe Franklin staff and faculty are in trepidation as they prepare for new and returning students' arrival, and have compiled a short guide of useful info and activities to help everyone navigate through the first week of classes.
Classroom Preparation
Classes begin on Monday, August 23, as scheduled and Franklin will finally beÌýresumingÌýin-person classes! Although social distancing continues, Franklin's international family will soon be able to reunite, meet face to face, and experience the many learning opportunities of the Franklin curriculum in presence.
Academic Travel 2021
Fall 2021 Academic Travel is scheduled to begin in October. All groups will be traveling as planned within Europe and all students traveling outside of Switzerland are required to show proof ofÌýfullÌývaccination. More details on vaccination can be found here. Please know that Franklin is doing it's very best to balance student and faculty safety, while protecting the integrity of the Academic Travel experience. As always, the Franklin professors are going above and beyond to make this experience memorable, meaningful, and enriching.
Get your Textbooks Online

Safety Precautions
To help ensure the safety of the Franklin community, several safety precautions have been implemented. This includes the frequent and rigorous cleaning of common areas and classrooms,Ìýnumerous stations for hands disinfectionÌý- please make good use of them - and indications for keeping a distance of 1.5 meters from others. It is incredibly important to follow these directions while on campus, and make them a common practice even off campus.
Masks are still required in the indoor common areas and where social distancing cannot be observed effectively outdoors. For purposes of sustainability, students are encouraged to bring at least one mask, and ideally these should beÌýreusable/washable. The environment is precious, so please make sure to dispose masks correctly.
Swiss COVID Certificate App
Switzerland launched theÌýÌý(COVIDcert App) to document when an individual has been vaccinated for COVID-19, recovered from COVID-19, or has a negative Swiss COVID test result. Students should download the Swiss COVIDCert App fromÌýÌý´Ç°ùÌý.ÌýThose vaccinated outside of Switzerland can obtain a Swiss COVID Certificate with a QR code by following the instructions on this site.

Download the Swisscovid app (forÌýÌý´Ç°ùÌý) for your safety and those around you.ÌýThe download is now mandatory for all staff, teachers, and students to trace contact within the Franklin campus. Details are explained in this shortÌý.
Student Activities, Engagement and the Franklin App
The Office of Student Life is excited to support students in designing their Franklin experience, by providing a variety of fun activities, events, and programs. To keep up to date with all that Franklin has to offer, students should download the Franklin App (for or ). On it you can view invitations and details to an array of opportunities to engage with Franklin and the local community.
Tone Athletic CenterÌý(TAC)
Per federal guidelines, the TAC will beÌýopen following Swiss COVID health and safety measures. Where possible and in compliance with those guidelines, excursions, outdoor courses, and activities, will also beÌýoffered to the Franklin community members. Practicing sports and enjoying a good time together are an important part of life on campus.Ìý
