Upon receiving a new application, our AdmissionsÌýcounselors and representatives examine many elements, not only gradesÌýand academic records, they especially concentrate on determining which prospective students wouldÌýbe a great fit for Franklin's international, close-knit and multicultural community, while most likely striving and being successfulÌýin a university setting.ÌýÌý

We also ask for an English proficiency test if English is not your native languageÌýor you have not studied in an English setting before. Personal statementÌýÌý
This isÌýyour chance to shine! We want to learn more about you as an individual and your writing style. What are your educational goals? What are your interests outside of school?ÌýHow did you find out about Franklin? Why are you interested in applying and what would make you a good Franklin student? Take this as an opportunity to tell us more about yourself, not just your school grades.Ìý
Letter of recommendationÌýÌý
Written by a previous teacherÌýorÌýschool counselor, the letter of recommendation will help our Admissions team get to know you from the eyes of someone who has workedÌýclosely with youÌýin an academic setting. This may answer questions like: what are you like in the classroom? What are your strengths as aÌýstudent?ÌýThis letter does not need to be in English, we will also accept letters in one of the three Swiss languages (Italian, German and French).ÌýÌý
Secondary school transcriptsÌýÌý
Finally, we do ask to see at least 3 years of your secondary school transcripts and require that you have a secondary schoolÌýdegreeÌýby the time you enroll.ÌýOur admittanceÌýdecision is not made only byÌýyourÌýfinal resultsÌýon the IB, A-Levels, or other national systems.ÌýWeÌýare especially interested in learning how you performed over your academicÌýcareerÌýand thus your preparation for university-level work. We understand your final grades are not available as you are applying.ÌýÌý
