There鈥檚 a fresh spring air of celebration on Franklin Campus.

The most anticipated time of the year is approaching for Franklin: commencement 2021 is near and will be celebrated on Saturday, May 15, with a small in-person celebration, in full compliance with current anti-Covid-19 regulations.听
Franklin's students have experienced a very peculiar year due to the unexpected pandemic that has altered our daily lives. The entire Franklin community has had to learn how to cope with new uncertainties, limited freedom and social distancing in addition to the challenges of digital and distance learning and working. Nothing has been the same. Time management, day-to-day routines and even socializing and maintaining friendships have all been greatly affected. The pandemic even compelled the Class of 2020 to settle for a solely digital ceremony and virtual reception. A unique celebration indeed.
However, one year later and with the first vaccinations taking place in Switzerland, we are finally able to breathe in a breeze of new-found normality as the Class of 2021 joyfully prepares to celebrate an outdoor ceremony (weather permitting) on the President鈥檚 lawn of the Kaletsch campus. The event will be divided into four different ceremonies based on the graduates鈥 disciplines of study. The Master of Science in International Management ceremony, at 1:30 p.m. CEST, kicks off the start of the celebration. This will be followed by the ceremonies of听the division of Business and Economics, the division of Communication, History, and Politics听and, finally, the divisions of Environment, Math, Psychology, and Health, plus Arts and Cultures.
President Greg Warden commented: 鈥淚t is a joyous moment for us, a great chance to celebrate with our students what is best about Franklin. This year it won鈥檛 be virtual, it鈥檚 real, and we are so happy to be together in this wonderful moment of history in the University鈥.
The commemoration will not be able to physically accommodate immediate friends and family, unfortunately. However, they will have the ability to closely follow and applaud the Class of 2021 through a livestream broadcast documenting the entire commemoration.
Be sure to set your clocks accordingly for Saturday and tune in to celebrate in real time with Franklin here. You may also find more details concerning the commencement agenda on this page.
Last but not least, let鈥檚 shorten the distances. Take part in the celebrations听by downloading and using our social media assets and following our seniors as they partake in a commencement cap decorating social media contest.
