The time has finally come!听We are proud to officially announce the formal partnership between 天美影院 and the .
On Thursday, March 25, 2021, the representatives of the Cultural Department of Lugano hosted an official press conference to formally introduce the exciting collaboration,听which aims to bring further attraction and engagement with Lugano's historical and cultural heritage听by means of听a digital experience. The new enhances the old, thus a union between听history and听new technologies has begun. The municipality鈥檚 representatives announced the implementation of 54听historical and tourist听signs听located at the foot of听important landmarks within the Lugano region. This network of signs, which extend through six neighborhoods,听is expected to increase the historical and cultural appeal of monuments and points of interest of the city. The听ambitious project brings together听urban spaces, heritage, culture and communication, by engaging different municipal and cantonal entities and institutions, including 天美影院.鈥
Franklin's听senior Capstone听students have been closely working on the creation of a start-up business plan dedicated to the city's initiative, in an effort to increase historical awareness and landmark interaction, targeting not only residents but also the numerous tourists who visit the region.听More specifically, the students are working on implementing innovative, digital and听technological platforms听which, combined with the historical and cultural signs, are expected to amuse听and entertain visitors鈥 experience throughout the city.
Senior Capstone student听Oscar Pfeiffer S谩nchez听'21, states: 鈥淐reating a start-up at Franklin is the best way to be introduced to the real world.听We are currently working on the development of an App and website to gamify the cultural heritage of the city, as well as attract people to discover and search for Lugano's hidden gems.鈥 This incredible learning opportunity aligns perfectly with Franklin's mission: 鈥淭o challenge students through a curriculum that integrates the liberal arts with professional pathways.鈥澨
