Enriching afterschool experiences for middle school ӰԺ.
The New York Life Foundation is supporting City Year’s multiyear initiative to standardize and scale its middle school afterschool program. Through support from the New York Life Foundation, City Year has improved its afterschool offerings by developing a national afterschool framework that is providing high-quality afterschool opportunities for ӰԺ in under-resourced schools. Together, we are helping to ensure that ӰԺ build critical interpersonal and workforce readiness skills, like teamwork, by embedding skills coaching and developmental experiences in the afterschool program. At full scale, it will have the potential to impact an estimated 150,000 middle school ӰԺ and be a key component of City Year’s strategy to keep ӰԺ in school and on track to graduation.
