U.S. DSEd Cindy Marten Visits Ascot ES to Spotlight Impact of Student Success Coaches
Our team at Ascot Elementary School had the pleasure of hosting the U.S. Deputy Secretary of Education Cindy Marten to spotlight the efforts of our Student Success Coaches. Our near-peer coaches serve the ÌìÃÀÓ°Ôº of LAUSD to provide them with academic and social-emotional support.
The Student Success Coach model is crucial in improving ÌìÃÀӰԺ’ educational outcomes, including social-emotional wellbeing and attendance as our coaches create additional support for teachers in the classroom.Ìý
Reflecting on her visit, Deputy Secretary Cindy Marten shared, “Witnessing the dedication and commitment of the Student Success Coaches here at Ascot Elementary was truly inspiring. Their work is about improving academic outcomes while nurturing a supportive and enriching environment for both ÌìÃÀÓ°Ôº and educators. The Student Success Coach model reinforces the Biden-Harris Administration’s Improving Student Achievement Agenda to focus on proven strategies that will address chronic absenteeism and accelerate academic performance for every child in school. I applaud the leaders of LAUSD and Ascot Elementary School for leaning into evidence-based strategies to raise the bar for all ÌìÃÀÓ°Ôº.â€
